ISI Introduces Low Profile SMT Power Inductor Series for High Current Applications

 Inductor Supply Inc. (ISI), introduces 12 models of the LCH series of low profile (0.130” to 0.230”), high current, surface mount power inductors designed for high density, high power circuits that typically run at high temperatures.

Applications include voltage regulator modules (VRMs), AC- to-DC switch mode power supplies and DC-to-DC converters in distributed power architectures for high- performance servers and workstations, telecom network switches, routers and base station equipment.

The new platform uses high performance helical windings, which allow for low direct current resistance (DCR) ratings, excellent thermal efficiency, and current ratings up to 38 amps DC. The extended operating temperature, up to 125 degrees Celsius, coupled with a low profile and small footprint, makes the LCH series ideal for compact high-density board configurations where elevated temperatures are common.

The LCH series features 12 part numbers offering inductances from 0.20 to 2.40 micro henries and operating currents from 18 A to 38 A. The series has low DCR values from 1.5 milliohms to 5.6 milliohms. Saturation currents range from 23 A to 40 A.
